DEHUMIDIFICATION AND RESTORATION
Melloncelli DRY is used, without limitation, to restore and redevelop environments compromised by rising damp in masonry. Green-housing technology, totally reversible and non-invasive, does not require building work, totally free of cables or electrodes.
INSPECTIONS AND ESTIMATES
Analysing the building on which to intervene allows us to develop the best project and economic proposal.
TAILOR-MADE DESIGN
The design of a restoration project always starts with historical and scientific investigations because each building is different from the others because of its history and/or its structure.
MANAGEMENT OF AUTHORISATION PROCEDURES
When necessary, Melloncelli takes care of the file management, following the entire authorisation process from the presentation of the application to its conclusion, dealing effectively with the authorities in charge.
CUSTOMISATION OF INTERVENTIONS
There may be different ways of achieving the same result. We need to do this following the customer's requirements.
INSTALLATION AND ANALYSIS
A team of professionals able to transform ideas and projects into reality, monitoring the intervention even afterwards to guarantee the result.
WORK DIRECTION
A TEAM of engineers and architects capable of interpreting the client's needs, solving every problem in the best possible way, identifying the most appropriate solutions, always respecting the site.
RELIABILITY OF SERVICE
Melloncelli boasts more than 5300 interventions in the historical and artistic field. This has been possible in the course of its history and tradition for over 170 years in the service of the civil and ecclesiastical sector.
MADE IN ITALY
Melloncelli is an Italian company that holds high the value of "Made in Italy". We design and manufacture our products in Italy: this is an added value for us.
THE PROBLEM
The phenomenon of capillary rising affects all masonry in direct contact with damp soil if not properly insulated. This phenomenon is due to water's ability in contact with masonry to penetrate it and rise inside it through capillaries, i.e. micro-cavities in the building materials. The capillary rise is electrical in nature: it is triggered by the potential difference between the water molecules and the materials that make up the masonry. The eventual evaporation through the wall surfaces is always slower than the rate at which the water rises. The walls remain damp and gradually become saturated with salts that were dissolved in the evaporated water.
Indicators of the presence of rising damp:
- damp patches at the base of the walls;
- formation of condensation;
- presence of mould and unpleasant smells;
- salt blooms on the surface;
- alteration and detachment of plaster.
THE SOLUTION
The Melloncelli Dry system is used to recover and redevelop buildings affected by capillary rising damp, acting on the wall structure regardless of the construction material. The Dry system is installed directly or near the masonry, inducing an electromagnetic field that neutralises the potential difference between the masonry and the water molecules, thus interrupting the capillary rising damp phenomenon. The moisture already present in the masonry will migrate outwards by evaporation until the masonry becomes dry. The drying process will take place more or less quickly depending on the wall characteristics (thickness and materials), the degree of initial humidity, and external environmental conditions.
Side effects:
- loss of property value;
- costly maintenance work;
- respiratory disorders due to the presence of mould;
- unpleasant smells in the building.
BENEFITS
It improves all rooms A property without humidity is more beautiful; there will be no more annoying stains on the walls, no more crumbling plaster and bricks. Healthier and more liveable rooms A dry and humidity-free environment is healthier and more liveable, especially for children, the elderly and those suffering from allergies and respiratory disorders. There will be no more unpleasant odours caused by the moulds that are typical of a damp environment. Increased property value A renovated, moisture-free property has a higher economic value on the real estate market. Money saving A dry environment has less heat loss and therefore, significantly lower heating costs. Costly and repeated maintenance work to restore damaged plasterwork is avoided.
